Colleen Bridges looks to the future in the 23rd Ward
Dedicated educator ready to contribute to the city
Colleen M. Bridges (nee Collins) has been a resident of the 23rd Ward in the City of St. Louis for most of her life.
She attended Epiphany of Our Lord Elementary School and St. Elizabeth Academy High School. Colleen received her Bachelor's Degree with honors from Saint Louis University and began a teaching career.
She spent ten years as a reading specialist for the Missouri Title 1 By-pass Program, providing remedial reading and math instruction to students in non-public elementary schools in St. Louis. During that time she earned her Master's Degree with honors from Fontbonne University.
She currently serves as a part-time Learning Consultant for St. Stephen Protomartyr Elementary School and as Adjunct Faculty in the English Department at Meramec Community College.
Her ambition is to represent the people of the 23rd Ward as Alderman.
Colleen and her family live in the 6900 block of Marquette Avenue. Her husband, Darwin, is a salesman for Ackerman Toyota. Her children Rowena and Darwin Jr. are students at St. Joan of Arc Elementary School.
Her family is active in the St. Joan of Arc Parish. Colleen is a Lector and Eucharistic Minister in the Church and enjoys serving the members of her parish community. She and her husband are active in the SJA Athletic Association and the SJA Homecoming Event. They coach and serve on several committees that benefit SJA students.
